Master of Science in Nursing:

Provides students the opportunity to become acute care nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, adult clinical nurse specialists, clinical nurse leaders, or nursing administrators in a variety of roles, including case managers. The MSN program may be completed in sixteen months, or at an optional slower pace. Upon completing requirements for the MSN with specialization in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner tracks, graduates will be eligible to take national certification examinations.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Family nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses who function as primary care providers to clients of any age, focusing on common health care problems. These skilled health care providers use expert clinical judgment and decision making in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses and prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions in the direct treatment of health problems. These work in collaborative practices with primary care physicians to deliver culturally sensitive care to clients.
