Admission Requirements for MSN Program
Priority Application Deadline: April 15
The College of Nursing Requirements are:

Graduation from an accredited baccalaureate program with a major in
nursing.

Overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all baccalaureate
coursework or on the last 60 semester hours of coursework completed.

Acceptable score on either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or the Miller Analogy
Test (MAT) taken within the last five years. Desired scores are 1500 on the GRE
or 410 on the MAT.

Three completed College of Nursing Graduate Recommendation Forms
from individuals familiar with the
applicant's clinical and academic abilities. One recommendation is encouraged to
be from a former nursing instructor/dean and one from an employer/supervisor.
Forms are available in the Office of Nursing Student Affairs.

Satisfactory completion of an elementary statistics course.

Hold an active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
Students who meet or exceed both the GPA requirement of 3.0 and the
desired test score of 1500 on the Graduate Records Examination or 410 on
the Miller's Analogies Test are eligible for unconditional admission to
the graduate program. Students who meet only one of these criteria may
be eligible for conditional admission.
