Post-Master's Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate Program
Students already possessing a master's degree in nursing have the opportunity to pursue a family nurse practitioner certificate. Students are admitted to the family nurse practitioner certificate program on a full-time basis to complete the requirements in one year. After completing coursework, students are eligible to sit for national certification examinations.

Admission Requirements:
Applicants for this program must:
- Hold a master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Complete UAH Application for Graduate Admission (sent to the Graduate Studies office).
- Submit official copies of transcripts from each college/university attended (sent to the Graduate Studies office).
- Submit two recommendation forms - one to be completed by a person familiar with the applicant's clinical ability, and one by a person familiar with the applicant's academic ability (sent to the Office of Graduate Programs).
- Have completed two prerequisite courses: 1) Advanced Health Assessment, and 2) Pathophysiology.
- Current unrestricted RN license in the state of Alabama or eligibility for an Alabama license. Alabama license must be obtained prior to enrollment in graduate courses.
