Camp Success
Camp Success is mandatory orientation for newly admitted upper division students to introduce them to the expectations of the College in relation to skills of critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and interventions.
Why come to an orientation event?
Camp Success is your orientation to the nursing education program. It will look and feel different than pre-requisite courses. Everything learned now will be used in the future to help a patient improve their health. Graduates will practice with a state license as a Registered Nurse. Someone's life is going depend upon you. To achieve the goal a of nursing license students must be successful in the academics and technical skills of nursing science. We want to help you meet that goal.
Nursing education is a discipline requiring students to apply scientific and humanities arts in situations life dependent. During the upper division of nursing courses testing moves from knowledge and comprehension to application and analysis. The intellectual behavior move challenges students to accomplish mastery of the middle cognitive domain as described by Bloom's Taxonomy. Thus the test questions required for passing courses require students to do more than just recall information.
To help each student be successful we have organized "Camp Success" the initial start to your nursing license journey. Come; meet faculty, staff and fellow students. Let us help you experience the tools necessary to meet your goals. We want to share fun filled and action packed days as you take the next steps towards graduation.
