The College of Nursing invites applications for tenure earning and non-tenure earning faculty in a variety of areas. CNNE accredited BSN, MSN, RN articulation, and Post-MSN programs provide opportunities to make a difference in health care delivery, teaching, and research. Huntsville maintains one of the highest per capita incomes and standards of living in the Southeast. Surrounding areas present many health care needs with opportunities for research and practice. UAH offers academic and research programs in the Colleges of Nursing, Administrative Science, Engineering, Science, and Liberal Arts.
The College of Nursing occupies a comfortable, aesthetically designed, four-story building with private faculty offices equipped with computers. Statistical and research consultation and computer services are provided. There are 450 students in the Undergraduate and RN programs, and 200 in the Master's program in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Clinical Nursing Specialist, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Nursing Administration Tracks. Extensive distance education programs are offered.
Candidates should possess a doctorate in nursing or related area and a master's degree in nursing for tenure earning positions. Certification required for nurse practitioner faculty. Non-tenure earning clinical positions, requiring minimum of master's degree in nursing, are available for faculty preferring an intensive clinical focus. Non-nurse applicants for research and technical support positions should possess a doctorate in appropriate field. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
